What actually causes cellulite?
October 21st, 2008 | by admin |The excess fat in the body in most of the women and some men forms into a type of special deposition known as cellulite. It is the women who are mostly affected by this problem. This is linked to the levels of estrogens in their body. On the other hand, the reason for cellulite in men is also attributed to low levels of cellulite in their body.
Other than hereditary cellulite, smoking, alcoholism, lack of exercise, fatty diet etc are thought to be causes of the cellulite deposition.
The deposition of cellulite is mainly seen in the women after the age of adolescence and increases with age and is a major problem for older people. The obesity is another major reason for the increased incidence of cellulite among the people. This condition is mainly due to the life style changes in the population and the changes of the food habits.
Brief course on cellulite formation
The fat excess deposited in the cells of the body determines the cells to enlarge. The enlarged cells receive more quantity of lymph and this in turn may be trapped in the cells and cause the hardening of the fat and the formation of the harder fat is called as the cellulite deposition.
The fibrous tissues located under the skin are made up of X shaped units while the fibres beneath the skin of the men are made up of perpendicular units. The shape of these units is also thought to trigger the formation of cellulite.
The incidence of cellulite can be reduced if people are more conscious about the role of exercise and the importance of healthy eating. Altering the life style cannot change the physiological factors but the lifestyle changes can trigger physiological changes to occur and thus the deposition of cellulite.
