Three Myths about Cellulite Debunked
December 5th, 2008 | by admin |Although cellulite is a common disorder, there are many misconceptions that can guide on the wrong path. In order to take appropriate measures for correcting cellulite, I believe it’s necessary to make few clarifications and learn to distinguish the truth from the myth.
Myth no. 1 - Only women have cellulite
False. Even if cellulite is a women’s disorder, men can have it too. Women have a different arrangement of fat cells and also a different collagen structure. Men can develop cellulite in the upper part of the body, neck and belly. The advantage is their great muscular tonus will stay on their side when it comes to burning the cellulite.
Myth no. 2 - Is cellulite the result of obesity?
False. Cellulite affects anyone, no matter their weight. Although it is more common to overweight persons, cellulite can look as bad on a skinny woman. Just think of the series of factors that cause it; I am sure not only overweight persons have met them: toxins, alcohol, smoking, skin firmness or bad circulation.
Myth no. 3 - Drink too much water and you’ll develop cellulite!
False. At one time, it was considered that the sodium and bubbling water are causing cellulite. In fact, no relationship was established between soda water and cellulite. In fact, drinking lots of water is a great way to eliminate toxins. The only problem would be if you usually retain water.
What we need to understand finally is that cellulite s common to many, many people. The most important thing is to feel good in your skin, and if this means having to eliminate cellulite, than by all means, go ahead!
